William O. Perkins III

CEO & President

Mr. Perkins is founder and managing partner for Skylar Resources LP. He has more than two decades experience in the energy trading industry. Prior to starting Skylar Capital, Skylar Energy, and Skylar Resources, Bill was a trading principal for Centaurus Energy in Houston, Texas ("Centaurus") until May 2012 when Mr. John Arnold made the decision to wind up Centaurus. Bill joined Centaurus at its inception in August 2002. Bill specializes in managing risk across the energy spectrum with an emphasis on natural gas and related markets such as crude oil and power. While natural gas has been Bill's primary focus, he has employed fundamental strategies in crude oil, power and other energy related trades. Prior to Centaurus, Bill was employed as a trader and risk manager for various firms including El Paso Energy, Statoil, AIG Energy Trading, and Zahr Securities. Bill began his career on the floor of the New York Mercantile Exchange in 1991. Bill is also the founder and president of Small Ventures USA, LP (SMV), a private equity and venture capital firm based in Houston, Texas, and founded in 1997. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Iowa where he also played for the Hawkeye's football team.

Gerald Balboa

Chief Commercial Officer & Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Balboa serves as CCO/COO for Skylar Resources, LP. He also serves as the COO and Head of Compliance for its sister firm, Skylar Capital. In his role at Skylar Resources, he is responsible for business management, strategy setting, capital structuring, risk and management oversight and firm operations. He has 22 years of experience in the energy markets having focused on power and natural gas markets. In addition to several senior trading and portfolio management roles, Gerald has started up and managed large energy trading operations. He was most recently a Managing Director and Co-Head of Power Trading at Societe Generale. Gerald was previously Chief Commercial Officer for the power business of BP North America Gas and Power. Prior to BP, he built Deutsche Bank’s power trading business. He also held trading and management roles at RWE, GDF Suez Energy, and El Paso Energy with an emphasis on physical trading and gas, especially in WECC. Gerald received both his Doctor of Jurisprudence and Finance degrees from the University of Houston. He is admitted to the Texas Bar.

Kayla Bruzzese

Chief Financial Officer

Ms. Bruzzese serves as the Chief Financial Officer for Skylar Resources, Skylar Capital, and Small Ventures. Kayla’s main focus is on the financial management and legal matters of Skylar and related entities. Prior to working for Mr. Perkins at Small Ventures in 2007, Kayla was a Senior Manager with Margolis, Phipps & Wright, P.C., a firm of certified public accountants. Prior to Margolis, Kayla worked for a high-net worth family in Houston, Texas. Kayla graduated from Texas Lutheran University with a B.A. degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and a Minor in Spanish. She is a member of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Houston Chapter of the TSCPA and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
